The Future of Graduate Education in the U.S.
The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) and Educational Testing Service (ETS) joined forces to develop a report on the Future of Graduate Education in the United States. The 72 page “landmark” report was released on April 29, 2010. A 6-page Executive Summary and Press Release provide the highlights.
President of the Council of Graduate Schools, Debra Stewart, provided the keynote address at the recent WAGS conference in Idaho, and presented some of the findings with a focus on the western region of the US. Ms Stewart emphasized the need to develop the Masters level graduate program and pointed to the future needs of the Federal Government and its agencies. There is also a need to address the demographic changes and pay attention to the high school and undergraduate drop out rates among some underrepresented populations.
