New Graduate Student Orientation

leave a comment »

January 10th marked our New Graduate Student Orientation Day, but more importantly it brought us all together as spring semester officially began.   Each and every new graduate student who attended received a warm welcome and were informed about policies, procedures, how to use campus support and services and basically just got acquainted!  An impressive Resource Fair included 24 informational tables, all of which offers services and support to new students.

Campus tour guides were available, along with a knock- out “Cool Tools” presentation from CILT (Center for Instructional and Learning Technologies). Caleb and Elizabeth demonstrated the amazing features of the Collaboration Station, intended for collaborative work and studies.  With the specialized collaboration software “Teamspot”, a group of students can connect to the host machine using wireless communication.  They can share files, share their screen, collaborate on documents and utilize software the average student may not readily have available. It was a great way to end a productive day!

And for those on you were not able to attend, a very warm and hearty welcome from all of us at The Graduate School!
