SBHE approves new name: UND School of Graduate Studies

leave a comment »

At its regular monthly meeting on January 17, 2013 the State Board of Higher Education approved changing the name of the Graduate School at the University of North Dakota to the School of Graduate Studies.

The name change reflects the expanding number of graduate programs and graduate students at UND. The School of Graduate Studies, with an enrollment of over 2700 students, is home to more than 100 graduate degrees and certificate programs, and offers the largest and most diversified instructional and research programs between Minneapolis and Seattle.

Wayne Swisher, Interim Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, said he was very pleased with the new name as it better reflects the many and varied functions of the School of Graduate Studies, the home for graduate education at UND.
